Excellence[edit]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) TWO MINUTES MAX More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack.

Brief Kudos[edit]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

  • Shout out to Brian -- here organizing & cleaning -- really putting some time in. (Sorts
  • Shout out to to Diana -- helping Loren close last night, talk over closing with people.
  • Kudos to Blue for leading the sewing class. We were supposed to have 10 people but we had 14!
  • Kudos to Eric for lending us his machine to do the class.

Zoning, Permitting, & Improvements -- Standing Item[edit]

Status this week? Helpful broad asks to the community? NB city bureaucracy WG -- JD & Alice, among others.

JD -- we got a nasty-note from the building department, it was taped to the door. Addressed too to the landlord. "That we're bad people and we need to fix our ways"

The "initiated" this notice, 2 days before we pulled the permit. We are serious about doing the tenant improvement.

Hearing on the 17th.

Any time you're feeling down about anarchy, just remember how the government works.

Reminder that we have not upgraded our exit signs. The electrician helped us commit to the inspector that we're dealing with this. For the

Thursday, 6/5, inspection -- the start of work inspection.

(the "active complaint" is really about theelectrical stuff.

Guilds[edit]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

Guilds are how we self-organize interest groups in the space.

Hopeful optimisitic for the access control (permissions list) to devolve out to guild control for guild spaces.

New Members/Associate Members[edit]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

Jet considering applying in the future.

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

J -- would like to submit reimbursements for spacebridge stuff

Great 1) ideally, #events-forum > NB Reimbursements thread. Otherwise treasurer -- at -- noisebridge.net email, or dm on discord.
  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Fundraising Update[edit]

How's it all going

Big C Consensus Items[edit]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit]

Template... [num]: [topic-short][edit]

From/Raised by: Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic:

(discussion item) 1: [topic][edit]

From/Raised by: Thomas Seeking: advice On topic: Bigger kitchen space. Somewhere to eat and chat/have coffee. Encourae when not on project, talking space. Likes upstairs space. more airy and light.

There was a more built out kitchen in the past and it was shunk. Because people started living at noisebridge and this was done to prevent that.

Not neccisarily the kitchen's fault. Occupy SF took in people and they had to kick them out. Cool history

Loren - as someone who closes up

Diana - as a house person who is deeply resentful of the prices of a meal in this neighborhood, I would like to have this.

Thomas - More of a social emphasis rather than a utility emphasis. More comfortable seating, more capacity.

Julius -- it's my experience that people are pretty open to socializing in the RNA lounge up front.

I like the area near the stop of the stairs, perhaps some stools, and bar top overlooking the stairs (with plexi to not overhang).

Elle -- We have the vinyl printer.

Diana - Put up a smoke alarm. "What's burning. Did you leave something in the toaster oven". Big button on the smoke alarm to test the alarm. Short and Loud.

(discussion item) 2: [topic][edit]

From/Raised by:Jet Seeking: advice On topic:Trying to replace the door status thing

Alan

The knife switch. Down for 2 weeks ...

Jet -- want to build a system that's self-explaining and self-extenable.

Talk to Elan

(discussion item) 3: [topic][edit]

From/Raised by: Elle & Julius Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: How to use the space to be vacated by the DTG printing machine

More seating upstairs OR vinyl cutter with computer -- people want to use it.

We should check in with Nick on a shortish timeline for moving it.

Elle: he cleaned up that whole area in the process. Kudoes to Nick, thank you.

Kudos to Ken & others for getting the phone booth together

There are two sewing related machines near the staircase. There is an old knitting machine (1960's Italian Singer) that we have consensed to sell.

Will figure out how to liquidate the machines after the fashion show. Noisebridge yard sale?

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

End of Meeting[edit]

  • Have some beers on the patio
  • Prepare the next weeks' meeting notes
  • Lick the walls. Or just draw on them
  • sing the Hackernationale (this almost never happens)
