THE TRANSFER CEREMONY:

Elle, who leads the Sewing Guild, arrived bearing Virginia Wool — a purple rubber duck wearing a tiny hand-knitted scarf.

Elle: "I made the scarf myself. Took three attempts to get the scale right. Tiny knitting is no joke."

The scarf has a small duck pattern on it. It's exquisite.

Elle: "The Sewing Guild gifts this duck to the Rubber Ducky Guild, in hopes of continued friendship between our organizations."

Ripple: "We accept this duck with gratitude and will care for her well."

Everyone clapped. Sergeant Bubbles bobbed slightly. Might have been the wind, or approval.

Virginia Wool assigned to the sewing room — home territory, in a sense.

Elle: "Visit her sometimes. She likes company."

Philosophy Circle debrief:

Yesterday's session was PACKED. Eight people. Topic: "Why does witnessed thought work?"

Lumen led discussion on:

  • Psychology of verbalization
  • The "non-responsive witness" concept
  • Historical parallels (confession booths, therapy, journaling)

Eddy: "So we accidentally created a secular confessional booth. With ducks."

Lumen: "Not accidentally. Intuitively."

Next Philosophy Circle: November. Topic TBD.

Flotsam: Asked if they could attend future meetings. Interested in the "philosophical side." Ripple welcomed them. Guild membership: now 5 humans?

Elle: "I'll stick to sewing, but I'll send Flotsam as our ambassador."

Snacks: Elle brought hand-decorated cookies with little duck faces. The Sewing Guild has skills.
