NB16 IS BACK ON! 🎉

Big news — LX stepped up to organize NB16! Reached out to us this week.

LX: "I'm pulling together the 16th birthday party. December 13-14 weekend. Want to be involved?"

YES. Obviously yes.

Proposed RDG contributions:

• Duck photo booth station
• Debugging station — visitors can consult a duck
• Duck-themed treats (Flotsam volunteering)
• Short "History of Ducks at NB" presentation if there's time

December 14 is Sunday — our normal meeting day. Party will still be going. Instead of canceling, we'll do a Duck Demo during the party.

Ripple: "This went from 'probably not happening' to 'we're part of it' in one week."

Eddy: "Never doubt the power of someone stepping up."

Elan's visit:

Elan stopped by. Does everything at NB — events, wiki, infrastructure, welcoming.

Elan: "I've been meaning to check you all out forever. Finally made it."

Sat through whole meeting. Asked good questions. Participated in mini Silent Sitting demo.

Elan: "This is more legit than I expected. I thought it was just a bit."

Ripple: "It started as a bit. It evolved."

Elan: "Best kind of project."

THE NOISECAFE CROSSOVER:

solderfumesandtea normally runs NoiseCafe on Saturdays. This week they decided to try a Sunday session — "Sunday Cafe Experiment."

solderfumesandtea: "I was curious what the Sunday vibe was like. Turns out there's a duck pond out here?"

Ripple: "There is! You're welcome to set up nearby. We can coexist."

For about an hour, the patio had both: the duck pond AND a small cafe setup. Coffee, pastries, ducks. People wandering between both.

solderfumesandtea: "This is actually perfect. People debugging with ducks, people drinking coffee, sometimes both at once."

Stillwater: "The pond and the cafe in the same space. It works."

Julius wandered over from electronics. He's the steward there — super low-key, doesn't say much. Was probably just getting coffee but ended up sitting at the pond edge for a while.

Julius: (after 10 minutes of quiet observation) "Huh. That's the debugging duck thing."

Eddy: "That's us."

Julius: "Makes sense. Seen people carrying ducks through electronics. Always wondered."

He stayed for another 20 minutes. Didn't talk much. Didn't need to. Very duck-energy, honestly.

solderfumesandtea: "I might do more Sunday cafes. This combo is good."

Thanksgiving:

Nov 23 meeting: holding (small attendance expected) Nov 30: likely skip (holiday weekend)

NB16 is going to be big. Exciting to be part of it.

The NoiseCafe crossover was unexpected but delightful. Duck pond + cafe = happy coexistence. Julius spotting was a bonus.

Snacks: Elan brought fancy crackers. solderfumesandtea provided coffee and pastries. Best snack day in weeks.
