More About CodeDay[edit]
CodeDay is the most beginner-friendly event for building amazing games and apps! The interesting part about the events is that students don't need to know how to code. We have workshops and events specifically geared toward learning how to code, so beginners can get started as quickly as possible. Additionally, students don't even have to code to participate. They can make music, art, and anything at all to contribute to a project.
Additionally, projects are mostly judged on how much each participant pushed themselves to learn during the hackathon. This allows beginners to still have a chance at winning prizes and feel less frustrated entering tech.
Prizes[edit]
This brings us to our second point about prizes. The prizes are not competitive. There is no real cash value to these prizes and they're mainly a prize of "achievement." Again, this allows everyone to enjoy themselves since it's relatively less competitive compared to other hackathons, and it welcomes beginners as well.
Volunteering[edit]
Unfortunately, the age cap on the event is 25 years old, but if you want to still take some part in the event we have some good news! If you're from Noisebridge and want to help mentor a team or just help out the event day-of (we really need cars), you can do that! Additionally, you can help make a really cool workshop about topics that we aren't covering. If you want to get started being a volunteer/mentor, fill out the volunteer form at https://codeday.org/volunteer
