We Love Our Space Too.

The Kitchen is a part of our space like all others, and does not deserve discrimination. Much progress has been made over the past months. The Kitchen feeds people and should not feed vermin. True. Nobody disagrees about this. Speak up if you disagree.

People enjoy the kitchen, a little or a lot. Speak up if you do not. Let your concerns be expressed, but do not take away the rights and privileges of others for your sake.

We want to know that you care for Noisebridge as a whole and welcome the integrity of this very unique space. How does dismantling instead of building invite technology promotion, growth and learning?

The Kitchen is not a center for antisocial activity, whether, here and now, or in times past. We are not vermin. We are humans. Food is prepared in kitchens today. Here or elsewhere. So what is the debate about "buying" food elsewhere?

Noisebridge claims a policy of excellence and non-discrimination. The Kitchen must then be vital to this policy, or it would not be here in the first place.

The Kitchen promotes a shared identity, a sense of community, a place for people to gather, take a break from their projects, relax and share ideas, food and culture in a conjenial atmosphere of levity and love.

You decide.

We are the kitchen. We hack chemistry, culture, community and food. We call for acceptance, recognition and respect.

This is our manifesto.

Wish List[edit]

  1. Laminated Sign: "Respect Noisebridge. Wash your dish."
  2. Pump-type soap dispenser
  3. Counter wipes
  4. Free Love
  5. An army of astronauts
  6. Rockets to launch them to space
  7. Shared Coffee for All

On second thought, we don't have to have the army of astronauts or the rockets to launch them to space. We'll build them ourselves. The free love goes over as respect anyway. That, with eventual cookies, will do, for all who want them.

Hackers work better when they're caffeinated, cared for and well-fed. Let's start working together today.
