🚰 THE WATER LEVEL SITUATION:

Ripple refilled the pool on Wednesday. It's low again. Noticeably.

Ripple: "Okay, this is the third time. Something's going on."

Lumen: "Evaporation? It's been warm."

Stillwater: "It rained Tuesday night. If anything, it should be higher."

Uncomfortable silence.

Pondscum: "You don't think... people are drinking from it again? Like in the early days?"

Ripple: "The sign is still up. 'NOT KOMBUCHA.' It's very clear."

Tidepool: "Maybe someone thinks it's ironic?"

Lumen: "Let's not jump to conclusions. Could be a lot of things."

Pondscum: "Should we... watch it? Like, set up a camera?"

Ripple: (uncomfortable) "That feels weird. We're not surveillance people."

Stillwater: "Agreed. That's not duck-nature."

Decided: monitor manually. Check levels at each Silent Sitting. Keep records. Don't panic.

But there was definitely some tension in the air.

Quiet week otherwise:

Smaller crew. Summer Sundays. Eddy at beach. Quorum visiting family. Flotsam "doing art stuff."

Low-key meeting. Pool floated. Ducks bobbed. Presence practiced.

Ken:

Ken was fixing a shelf on the patio. Noticed us. Nodded. Went back to work.

Later, walked past the pond. Paused. Looked at ducks for a long moment. Left without comment.

Ripple: "Who's that?"

Lumen: "Ken. Fixes things."

Ripple: "Seems intense."

Lumen: "He's just focused."

Zine preview:

Lumen got advance copy. Two-page spread. Photos look good. Quotes us accurately. Calls us "sincerely weird" — fair.
