Rubber Ducky Guild Meeting[edit]

Date: 2025-09-14, 1pm

Attendance[edit]

Ducks Present[edit]

  • All 7 traditional ducks
  • 3 "prototype ducks" (3D printed, courtesy Daniel)

Humans Present[edit]

  • Ripple, Eddy, Quorum, Lumen, Flotsam, Stillwater, Pondscum, Tidepool
  • Daniel (Noisebridge member, 3D printing enthusiast)

Agenda[edit]

  1. Summer recap
  2. Daniel's... gift?
  3. Fall planning

Discussion[edit]

Summer recap:

Abbreviated summer. Attendance lower (travel, heat). Silent Sittings continued. No major incidents. Sergeant Bubbles stable.

DANIEL'S 3D PRINTED DUCKS

Daniel approached us last week. "I can print you ducks. Any color. Any size. Custom designs."

Brought 3 prototypes today:

  • Yellow duck (classic shape, but plasticky)
  • Blue duck (Tardis colors)
  • Duck with tiny circuit board pattern

Reactions... mixed.

Ripple: "These are... interesting."

Eddy: "They're not RUBBER ducks. They're plastic ducks."

Daniel: "Same principle though, right?"

Lumen: "The material matters. Rubber has history. Warmth. These feel... manufactured."

Daniel: "They ARE manufactured. So are rubber ducks."

Stillwater: "There's something about the squish. The give. These are hard."

Tidepool: "I kind of like the blue one."

Eddy: "TIDEPOOL."

No resolution. Daniel left prototypes for "evaluation." They're sitting in a box. Nobody has touched them.

This feels like Orthodox vs Expansionist 2.0.

Quactions[edit]

  • [ ] Evaluate 3D ducks (All)
  • [ ] Determine policy on non-rubber ducks
  • [ ] Thank Daniel for the thought (Ripple)

Notes[edit]

Duration: 54 min.

The 3D duck question is going to become A Thing.

Snacks: Stillwater's granola. Constant.
