NB18 2026 Anniversary Party Planning[edit]

We just had NB16 and we're already planning the next one(s)!

Seasonal Open Houses[edit]

We can actualize a lot of the ideas for NB18 ahead of time by making a repeatable formula for regular quarterly seasonal open house parties a thing.

  • Each one being predictable gives us 3 months to prepare and improve the setup and content for the next.
  • Ideas and improvements that miss cutoff for one seasonal party can be cooked more to go into the next one.
  • Seasonal open houses makes the anniversary party just the biggest one of the year and get better at rather than something we do last second.
  • Rotating more people able to organize these so nobody burns out organizing too often.

Ideas form NB16 so far[edit]

  • Hackitorium needs LED Signage and lighting besides the Flaschentaschen.
  • Reorient stage from wall to front of Flaschentaschen as far back towards Woodshop as it will go to increase capacity and make seating more conducive to people coming and going as they please.
  • Utilize upstairs to give people more options and increase total capacity.
  • Party night should be Saturday so people don't mind being up late like on a Sunday when they have to work next day.
  • Weekend hackathon concept could be 2 days instead of 3, with optional Sunday being more chill stuff like additional workshops that doesn't go late or take much organizing.
  • Time keeping needed to keep everything on schedule and not push music too late.
  • All speakers need to be locked in with their materials during sound check to test everything works and seated front row in reserved speaker seats on time before talks start.
