-A pay per hour workshop/cafe ($2 per hour, first 10 are free) with plenty of resources for software workers and a fairly quiet atmosphere. Easy to get to from Montgomery BART.
- Capital One 360 Cafe
-A three story modern workspace near Union Square with a Peet's Coffee and a Capital One bank on the ground floor. Open and generally pretty busy. Bring headphones if you need quiet. The basement is generally the quietest floor. Easy to get to from Montgomery BART.
- Sundeck @ 343 Sansome St.
-Not a workspace per se, but a great place to get above the street and gaze at nearby buildings and the Bay. There are tables and chairs so you can bring your laptop if you want. It's entirely outdoor, so make sure the weather is acceptable for you. It's on the 15th floor, just walk into the lobby and look for the elevator bank. No sign in or security check needed. Easy to get to from Montgomery BART.

-Another rooftop with great views of the new Transbay Center and other SOMA projects. Open 24/7, 2-3 blocks from Embarcadero BART.
