Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (Give a quick, 1-3 sentence summary.)

Excellence: use best judgemant, empathy, goodness!Flexible. Open to interpretation by individuals.

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) Anti-harassment-we have a policy, please pay attention to it ATL-Ask to leave, important to honor it. Choose to disengage when you can

Zoning & Permitting Standing Item[edit]

Status this week? Helpful broad asks to the community? NB city bureaucracy WG -- JD & Alice, among others.

JD-Picked up the engineering drawing and tomorrow afternoon he and our contractor will go and ask for an extension of 30 days from our 60 day fine. The extention is for verntilation for the wood shop, Will go out of wood, go under the stairs outside of the woodshop, get an air purifier over the doors that will also vent out, through the back hallwy to the ceiling and take several turns on the 2nd floor before going out through the roof. If we are lucky, then the bureaucrats will accept and we will be safe.

Sharon use to deal with a lot of permitting stuff and feels the fire dept may be a good resource

Ellen-Electrician will come back. Would they be up for doing some small changes in the sewing room? Outlet on the back wall and one other small thing. JD-electrician maybe willing to make some small changes. He is storing stuff in sewing to keep it safe. Because the door has a lock he feels his stuff is safer in there. Ellen-Cool, will get info to JD

Big C Consensus Items[edit]

Consensus Items [edit]

None

Discussion Items[edit]

It is recommended to post items for discussion ahead of time at https://pad.riseup.net/p/nbmeeting. (Check that the template for the meeting is in place already, and that last week's notes have been moved to the wiki, of course)

1-Lower case c consensus on the industrial knitting machine 2-Silent Auction event 3-Sewing Yard Sale 4-Lower case c consensus on the goggle calendar

Discussion Item 1[edit]

From/Raised by: Julius Seeking decission On topic: Industrial Knitting Machine

See lower case c consensus on Industrial Knitting Machine--Julius has made connection through Nick and they ae open to taking the machine that is sitting on the first floor. They have paid stff and are willing to consider the donation. Elle--concern about the loss of this machine for little discussion of small c. Advocates big c. Also feels many find the machine as an organizing interest for others. JD--Getting paid? Julius--may even junk it using surplus sites, that may be another option JD--would be more valuable to the community at large if we sell it for parts. Can we ask human made to broach the subject? Not sure about taking the time for pursuing pricing of the machine. Likes keeping it in the community. Elle: is in favor for getting it sold Loren: spent time on the machine and is interested in spending more time on it. Open to teaching others and would ask we not do anythng for a month or two so we can see if this may be worth keeping. Daniel: The machine was only 5k so not so expensive as the nicer version in Sequoia (?) and is easier to use. Does Humanmade know that this is insanely hard to use? This is a hacker opportunity rather than a craft opportuity. Also, is concerned about the loss of cool machines when we have increasing competition for cool stuff and especially cool stuff to hack. If we can come up with a cool training protocol we could do something. Better training=more people to Noisebridge. Also, we need more hacking, more hacking needs to happen. Julius--cool to table this and come back to this at another time. Is willing to tell Humanmade we are going to spend a bit longer getting to know it better.

Daniel and Loren are interested in doing a big final push on the machine.

Julius is curious as to what has happened to the cool sample he had that was made on the machine.

Sharon--feels that the fact that this space is a lot less ridged and that is good. And makes for a good reason to keep such a cool machine.

Discussion Item 2[edit]

From/Raised by: Ellen Seeking decision On topic:Silent Auction event

Silent auction is the version of what was going to be the sweet 16 party. Seeking a decision and donors for the auction. Beer and pizza is easy. Landlord wants to make a donation and this could be a framework for that to happen. The date would be Sept. 13th. Somone is offering to provide food, music, and drinks as a donation. Idea is that we can maybe do a larger party at a later date for the actual 16th anniversary.

JD -- Landlord is not offering to make a donation but offering to help us with fundraising. Elle--maybe to get donations for the silent auction JD--yes

Sharon-- types of things that sold? Elle--lots from last year Andrew -- there are companies that offer silent auction items for "lease" until sold. Elle--seeking consensus on painting the current "art sale" space white to be used for silent auction.

consensus, YES

Discussion Item 3[edit]

From/Raised by: Elle Seeking On topic:Sewing Yard Sale

Elle--happening on Saturday and dumplings and pizza for folks willing to come in on Friday to help move things downstairs on Friday night.

Discussion Item 4[edit]

From/Raised by: Andrew Seeking decission On topic:Google Calendar

Recommend we use google calendar for events. It's the easiest implimentation. Insert as iframe in the wiki.

WEZ--pull Loren in on this.

Andrew--Loren is in and aware.

WEZ--Edit permission on the Wiki, ask Loren or Liz.

Andrew--Google account access

Elle--ask Elan. Also, what about Meetup and the other types of invite sies?

Andrew--Consolidation would be good, will look in to those others, including Lu.ma.

Discussion Item 5[edit]

From/Raised by: Elle Seeking On topic: crowded accessibility

Big Blue refridgeator shaped item is sitting in the space and blocking the closet under the staircse. Has a sticker on it that says Thermatron. Blocking accessible sewing cabinet. Resulting in damage to the sewing cabinet since people are piling heavy items on top of it.

Concern is that if we are a community group we need to hold space open for community members unable to climb to the second floor or in other ways physically challenged?

WEZ--Check with Julius

Wheezy: doacracy.
