Discussion

Silent Sitting (Sept 18): Happened. Successful. Six people attended (including two new faces who'd seen the sign). The pond was NOT moved. Lumen led beautifully. 25 minutes of silence.

New attendees: Two people from the Machine Learning study group came by. They said they'd "heard about the ducks." Word is spreading.

Pond update: Ripple went to Tuesday meeting. Explained the guild, the pond, the space need. Response was mostly positive. One person asked if the ducks were "tax-deductible." (They are not.)

Agreement reached: the patio corner is informally recognized as Duck Pond territory. Not exclusive — it's still shared space — but the pond shouldn't be moved without notice.

Philosophy Circle: Lumen wants to host a deeper discussion session. Topic: "Why does witnessed thought work?" Mix of philosophy, cognitive science, maybe some meditation theory.

First Philosophy Circle scheduled for October 5th, 2pm. Open to anyone.
