Discussion[edit]

NEW MEMBERS:

After three visits each, Pondscum and Tidepool formally asked to join.

Pondscum: "I talk too much. I know this. But I'm working on it. The ducks are helping."

Tidepool: "I don't talk enough. The ducks are helping with that too, somehow."

Both designated as "Listeners" — the first level of human progress toward duck-nature.

Vote: Unanimous welcome.

Guild now stands at: 8 humans, 6 ducks.

STATE OF THE GUILD:

Ripple gave an informal "state of the guild" address.

"Nine months ago, I brought a duck to a patio and asked if we should start something. Now we have:

  • Six ducks, each with their own story
  • Eight humans who've chosen this weird path
  • A monthly Silent Sitting practice
  • A values statement
  • International connections
  • A wiki presence
  • A kiddie pool that somehow became sacred

We've had wins. We've had losses. We had a squeaker fail and a member walk out and another member who never fit and we handled ALL of it.

In June, we'll be one year old.

I don't know what the second year looks like. But I know we'll figure it out. Together. With ducks."

(Applause. The ducks bobbed.)

  • April: CCC Cologne visit, regular operations
  • May: Anniversary planning
  • June 9: ONE YEAR OF DUCKS
