PowerShot A2500

There are some Canon PowerShot A2500 cameras that belong to Noisebridge. These cameras appear obsolete at first glance, but when coupled with CHDK and chdkptp they obtain professional tethering features with a F/2.8 to F/6.9 @ 5-25mm optical zoom lens.

Using an AC adaptor requires some custom molded wire fittings and an AC to DC adapter, which exist as retail products. Otherwise the camera can only be powered by a battery, which has pretty efficient discharge time. The camera can be powered on remotely over USB citation needed. This camera is a popular item for installation into a Bookscanner due to the high pixel density and remote control over the optical hardware.

It's also useful for a Photobooth.
