24/7 GAMEDEV AT NOISEBRIDGE HACKERSPACE: GGJ2026 at Noisebridge is being hosted by Noisebridge Games Guild, which hosts many gamedev events like Gamebridge gamedev and Tablebridge tabletop Wednesdays and Godot Meetup every 3rd Saturday of the month. You can gamedev for free at NB every day till ~11PM or last member leaving or become a supporting member and get your own 24 hour access card.

IN PERSON AND DISCORD: This event is a hybrid event, both online via Discord and in-person. FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE FOLKS TO COME TO THE SPACE IN PERSON (at least for the opening and closing ceremonies!) Meeting fellow jammers and making dev friends in person is not to be missed.

Theme Reveal & Diversifiers[edit]

  • The Reveal: The Jam's surprise Theme will be revealed January 26th at 5PM PST! Use that to inspire your game ideas.
  • Ideation, Teamups & Idea Pitches: After theme reveal, devs will brainstorm ideas and discuss forming teams before getting a chance to pitch their teams' ideas to the group to recruit members.

Diversifiers[edit]

  • Diversifiers: Diversifiers are a list of optional neat ideas to incorporate into your game. They are a great way to add a little more fun or challenge to your jam weekend.
  • Sometimes they can be very helpful to limit your scope or refine your ideas.
  • They are totally optional constraints you can choose to add to your GGJ Online game alongside the main focus of the theme.
  • It can help your game stand out from the crowd, and you can choose up to 4 when you submit!
  • This year's diversifiers will also be available in other languages, which will be linked to this post as soon as they are ready.

  • Mentors: LX (Unity), Mentors for Unity, Unreal, Godot and other specializations sought!
  • DocentSchedule: Sign up to be on hand to help Jammers get in and find what they need! The schedule lists days of the Jam that need docents (Greeters willing to be at the space for some hours those days so that we have 1-3 people likely to be at the space during open hours).

SITE DETAILS[edit]

  • 24 Hour Security: Noisebridge Members will monitor the space during normal hours. After 11PM, space openness depends on a member still being present so if the last member with 24/7 access card leaves they'll close up the space and ask those without 24 hour access cards to leave for the night. Cards are available by becoming a member and temp guest cards are available by request. You can't sleep at Noisebridge but it is a great place to work responsibly late at night.
  • Accessible Public Transport: 16th and Mission Bart is 2.5 blocks away.
  • Auditorium Space: We have a podium, projector screens, and a giant LED wall you can play games on.
  • Completely Non Smoking
  • Drinks and Snacks: We have a fridge and snack shelf with liquid energy and caloric sustenance.

  • Microwave: You can heat stuff up.
  • Pizza: Some pizza will be provided for lunch on Kickoff & Demo Sundays.
  • Quiet Space: Has a quiet space/spaces away from the main jam areas. There's a privacy booth, small back patio and several smaller rooms if you need to take phone calls or chill away from the hubub.
  • Refrigerator: We have limited fridge space to store food briefly, but do not leave things overnight.
  • Site Recycles: This site recycles
  • Vegetarian Food Options
  • Welcomes Boardgame Creation: We have laser cutters, 3D printers, woodshop, etc. to help make physical game stuff and a weekly Tablebridge Wednesdays 5PM tabletop design meetup.
  • Welcomes Hardware Games / Alt Controllers
  • Wheelchair Accessible: Wheelchair accessible downstairs areas including Hackitorium, Arcade, Woodshop, Laser Cutter, Print Shop, Electronics Bench, and accessible toilets. Upstairs doesn't have elevator but it has sturdy rails to help get up and down if you can do that.
